This morning on my way to the jobsite, my TomTom GPS, lost satellite contact.
Not knowing exactly where I was going, I stopped and called for directions.

Turned the GPS off and rebooted it. Same thing. No satellites found.

30 minutes later, almost to the jobsite, the GPS started talking again. It found a satellite.

Then an hour and a half - two hours later and it lost the satellites again.
I knew how to get back home now, backtracking and still 3 hours later, still no satellite contact??

Anyone else have their GPS acting up today?

I know the Russians kicked us out of the Space Station... maybe they are jacking around with things now that we aren't there.

Seriously - check sun spot activity. Seems like twice a year, sun spots wreak havoc with satellite reception.

UPDATE: Or you can follow Legalsea's advice.

Really? GPS dog collars? I am just looking on Amazon and see that they do exist. Do you mind sharing which one you use? We have a dog that roams around our 16 acre lot and I would like to keep track of him.

We use them for our dogs to hunt bear and coyote.

We need a long range.....you might not need as far of a range.

Kewl !!!!!

We have a new (to us) Jack Russell Terrier, and such a collar would ease our worries considerably
