This is not one of my rants. I just want your opinions about how technology controls us or if we are still controlling it and how we can gain back control without slowing down progress. Thank you.
My personal opinion is based on my experience. Technological advances recently has gained control of us through spying and other abilities. We know the advancement is unstoppable, but we need to find a way to gain control if possible, without slowing down the advancement.
It might seem that way but its not. Its just technology is a important part of our lives and has been that way since the stone age when man fist invented stone tools. We are just a lot more advanced now. A lot more.
Technologies are really making a big difference, but it's not like technology's are controlling us. We are creating new technologies that mean we know how to control it. They are for providing us more help. Yes, we are habituated of technology's but we should not let technology to control us.

Social media has become an almost addictive element in today's world, so from that point of view it would seem that technology has the potential to control it's creators in subconscious ways. Facebook is a case in point.

Yeah, social media become an addictive element now a days, we should not have to let technology control us.
Technology has the ability to impress us and make habituated, but think about it once, what if that social media don't exist. That is also not good, so technology is good, but we have to think for which purpose technology are good to use.
Social media addiction is growing and you aren’t alone. You, yourself, need to be your own best friend. You need to help yourself and take the first step. By placing the blame on the technologies, you are only fooling yourself by not acknowledging the role you play in reinforcing the addictive cycle those digitally connected products thrive on. There is no one-size-fits-all formula. However, I think we all should take a step and create an environment deal with it.

There's evidence that information serving algorithms have had a significant influence on how society thinks and behaves. You read one controversial news article, then the social media site recommends similar articles and like-minded communities (instead of alternative opinions). It's helped create devout zealots of particular subjects, notably political doctrines.
We will forfeit control and not just through spying. We’re already doing it. The stock market is largely driven by computer trading, which is largely driven by software bots that have learned how to trade by learning from other software bots. We are in the process of yielding our financial decisions to machine algorithms.
More and more of our designs of machines and electronics are being done by software, based of years of engineering work fed into their hungry algorithms. A.I. Is taking our years of work and accumulating and collating into libraries of knowledge that only a computer mind can sift. At some point these self learning machine intelligences simply won’t need our input. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zSeTdo...ature=youtu.be
