I'm starting to think this board should have an Elon Musk thread.

Musk states "Tesla will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology.

This move will certainly accelerate the electric car industry and infrastructure (which is precisely Musks calculation). Major auto manufacturers will more aggressively pursue this technology which is going to change the face of the automobile industry worldwide over the next decade

This move didn't help Sun Microsystems. Even though Java is the most popular language in the world today... Sun Micro ceases to exist.
