I had a dvd player that streamed netflix and had good speakers that I like better than the TV ones.

My son added an xbox 360 that streams my amazon prime movies & pandora and he figured out an optical cable to allow all the sound from everything to come through my dvd speakers..

so far so good !!!!

My other son gave me an old roku cube and I am wondering if trying to use it to get other internet streaming
will work ...sorta feel like I am pushing my luck..

I don't watch enough regular programming to be motivated to pay for regular cable..but roku would be nice..

Also plan to add an antenna to get local channels ...

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here. Are you trying to consolidate your devices for streaming, or add another onto your existing network?

I think your on the right track. You can get a good digital antennae and wTch a lot of digital channels over the air without paying cable.

Good luck! I went without cable for 5 years

Yes you can add it. If you don't have enough HDMI inputs on tv get something like this Fosmon HD1831 3-Port HDMI Switch with Pigtail Cable:Amazon:Electronics

I could afford not paying it too. I used the extra savings to pay for travel. If you save $1200/year then that can go towards a cruise or whatever
