I am not tech minded, I have come here desperate for help!

I run a sports organisation which has 18 instructors scattered around a 50 mile radius.

I am looking for a system by which students can pay for their lessons online and show maybe a barcode to their instructor who can scan it in to their personal device to confirm that they have paid.

Does such a thing even exist?

If it does how do I find it?

Thanks in advance.

That seems pretty common with QR codes and bar codes. I'd inquire with the payment system you are using to accept the order/payments.

But those are typically used for kiosks, etc. so that you can complete a transaction (e.g. to print out a membership card or pick-up merchandise). If you are just confirming payment, wouldn't the printed confirmation (where that QR code will be) suffice?

I've seen QR codes around but I have never scanned one - I thought they just took you to the business website?

I think I will go to my bank and ask them if they know of any technology that can meet my needs.

It seems simple enough for this day and age...

It would be a variation of security badge software.

Amazon pay + group txt

Txt them and ask them to show you the txt.
No phone, look up their home phone number in your smart phone.

There are free ones, but you lack tech and know how.

Sounds a lot like the systems they use at pretty much every live performance venue. The "ticket taker" actually just scans the bar code on the ticket, which marks it as used in the database. If a used ticket gets scanned, an alarm sounds.
