This was the original pole-flipping prediction, as touted on the Art Bell show during the 1990's.

I've got a copy of it somewhere in storage. It predicted utter disaster on May 5, 2000. IIRC Art Bell said that he wanted to live-broadcast the end of the world. I notice that there is a 'revised edition' on Amazon. I wonder if the writer pushed the date forward?

These predictions of doom come along every so often. In the 19th century a preacher named William Miller calculated the end of the world as 1843-1844. He and his followers camped out on a hill to await the end, which did not come. The followers dispersed and formed the 7th day Adventists.

What has scientists puzzled, is that right off the east coast of South Africa, the poles have flipped.
In the area, a compass will read backwards, in relation to the suns position.

We need a Pole tax so the federal government can redistribute that money to their corporate and political cronies and prevent this flip from occurring.

None of what you say is true. Neither the equator, the Tropic of Cancer or the Tropic of Capricorn move at all.

As I mentioned previously, the equator is always 90° from the true north and true south poles, regardless of what angle the Earth spins.

The Tropic of Cancer is 23° 26' 14.675" north of the equator, and the Tropic of Capricorn is 23° 26' 14.675" south of the equator. Both are determined by the axial tilt of the planet.

The magnetic poles have not flipped, and compasses do not read backwards, nor do compasses have anything to do with the sun's position.

The magnetic south pole is actually off the coast of Antarctica and moving toward Australia, not South Africa.

"The South Pole has a land mass, and some of us have always wondered if it isn’t the lost continent of Atlantis under all that ice. But that’s a debate for another time."

I stopped reading there.

That is an excellent place to stop reading.

I would have stopped reading just a few sentences before the one you posted:
"Always the furthest from the sun and the only spots on the planet that never get direct sunlight, ice the size of continents accumulates."
The true north and south poles are "the furthest from the sun" for only about 3 months of the year when they do not get sunlight (direct or otherwise). The remaining 9 months of the year both poles do receive direct sunlight. So much direct sunlight in fact that the sun does not set for about 3 months of the year.

The author of the article clearly has no clue what they are talking about.

Buy a GPS instead. Then you will not have to worry about the magnetic poles.

From my location, the magnetic declination of the north pole is 17° 39' 27" East of me, and changing by 18.7' West per year. A few miles north of me, in Fairbanks, the magnetic declination of the north pole is 19° 14' 51" East, and changing by 22.9' West per year.

That makes using a compass a real pain in the posterior.
