I need to be able to communicate with my neighbor and more importantly I need my neighbor to communicate with me. Using the phone won't work and the best solution we have come up with is to have a visual cue. One idea is that we can flip some sort of switch for a light to turn on. When the switch is flipped again the light will turn off. I'd like to find a type of light that is very dim, less than a night light really. We're both in townhomes so the distance is very close. Does anyone know if any such technology exists?

Rofl no. I need my neighbor to alert us when he goes out to smoke so it stops blowing in our house and when we walk out the front door.
