It's an interesting question. Certainly from my perspective we seem dumber than we used to be. But then I never used to have access to so many dumb people as I have since I got a computer.

I've been doing some reading about this in the last couple of months and don't have a guess. Take your pick:

Wiring the Brain: Genetic entropy and the human intellect (or why we're not getting dumber)

I can shows you the direction earth spins with my finger, takes a moment or two to figure out that it's counter clock wise.

since English is my second language, questions relating to advanced astrological words I would not be able to answer.

Every school child knows that it takes earth to spin around it's axis close to 24 hours, but not exactly. Every 4 years we have an extra day to make up the difference.

Right, it has to do with the Earth's revolution around the sun (25% of Americans don't know the Earth revolves around the sun) and the Gregorian calendar. Come on, you know you want to explain it .

Then there's the Leap Second...

The direction of earth spin depends on where you are relative to it.

If you consider chickens dinosaurs, pretty good around here.

The question on dinosaurs that my neighbors won't tell me is... How did they get them on the ark, given its size? I sense a vast right-wing conspiracy.
