Hello,

Robots seem to be progressing leaps and bounds. They can pick vegetables, help wounded soldiers, mow the lawn, and vacuum the carpet, etc.

If you could have a household robot, what would you want it to do? How would it help you to not doing those things yourself?

.
....
Fold laundry. It would only help me out time-wise, as folding my clean duds always gets done... eventually. Unfortunately, this is something robots are have great difficulty with so far.

Sounds like the beginning of a skit from "Who's Line Is It, Anyway"

I'd have it go to the bathroom for me. Think of the time that could save.

I'd have it keep dogs, cats, and armadillos out of my yard.

I have an IRobot scooba.

We are now in the begging age of household robotics. All these robots are expensive and do the absolute minimum to even be useful.

Did you just get done watching an episode of "Humans"? (new show on AMC)

I would just have it keep my place clean.

I did watch Humans and Ex Machina. I think robots are going to take over the world very rapidly. But, it's going to start with small companies that sell small robots that do one or two small tasks. I say this because companies go under making one expensive all in on robot.

No one is going to pay 50-100k for a robot that does normal household chores. It's cheaper to get a house wife/husbands/kids/etc. I just wonder how they are going to start and evolve into that type of machine.

Uh... no. Someone has been watching too many movies and TV.
Anyway, it's quite easy to disable machines en masse.
