The evidence will be here until the earth ends. Just some of these radioactive half lives of things we made can take millions of years. There's a program on the discovery channel I believe that was called Earth without humans and showed what would happen each day, month, year etc. that humans weren't around. Not particularly encouraging for the earth actually since so many things we've created need constant monitoring.

Actually, that idea: ''If the human race was gone today...'' NOT an absurd idea. Because we're expecting to 9.5 billion human population in the 2050 and that means there'll be so many people out there!

Human race might be ended by such a reasons: Lack of food, poverty, massacre, greediness... etc
