Apparently if humans had lived at the same time as the Dino King, we could have just run away from him.
"Line up Usain Bolt at the starting blocks with a Tyrannosaurus rex and the dinosaur would be left behind in the sprinter's dust, according to computer-assisted research that turns long-held assumptions on their head."
I have long disagreed with the conventional view that we are here because the dinosaurs died. I believe we could have evolved and existed along side the dinosaurs and, in time dominated over them.

Probably. Our ancestors were already competing for resources against mammoths, sabertooth's, cave bears...
It would be cool to actually experience dinosaurs in real life.
There's the old observation: How fast does an antelope need to run in order to survive?-- just a little faster than the fastest lion... And how fast does the lion need to run in order to survive?--just a little faster than the slowest antelope.
How fast did T.rex need to be to catch a lumbering Bront? Not very. Not to mention--->
The other thing they got wrong is that T.rex was more probably a scavenger and not a predator: having those vestigial forearms would be a pretty poor hunting strategy when attacking a victim flailing, kicking and biting back. Boxers don't last long when they lead with their chins.
T.rex had that long, bulky tail to counter balance his big upper body when leaning over to eat carion.
T-Rex is perpetually reinvented, Disney doesn't do as much imagineering as dinosaur lovers. The teeth tell the tale, this was an apex predator, but we shouldn't believe our lying eyes?

Mammalian predators evolved long canines strategically spaced to match the jugulars/ carotids of their prey. T.rex had plenty of time to evolve the same, but didn't. ??? It may not be as obvious as you think.
How many carnivourous Roos are there-- another group, bipedal with bulky tail for balance and short fore limbs?

Big and bulky ponderous animals aren't necessarily slow, could you run from a rhino or elephant?
I take these "science" press releases with a pinch of salt.

But they're not saying he couldn't run because they're bulky and ponderous. They're saying they couldn't run because their bones couldn't support their weight at speed.
