I got this third hand, but I thought it was so funny I wanted to share.

A guy and his girlfriend were standing outside looking up at the heavens. The girlfriend noticed a star? or a planet? with a distinct bluish tint. She turned to her boyfriend and asked:

“Is that the earth?”

People do say stupid stuff when they lose the context of their environment. I was out hiking/photographing with a lady friend. We walked out onto this concrete dam to get a better view of the lake. She was admiring the view of the lake and asked, “do you think this is natural or man made?”

I do remember hitting a censor block once while searching for "heavenly bodies". Astronomy is NSFW, apparently.

And that's what happens when thoughts go on autopilot while you're speaking...you don't know what you're saying until long after you've actually said it.
