So i posted this question yesterday but i think i placed it in the wrong forum.

Ive been using CL for a while to try to sell my old junk, instead of just throwing it away.
Im not a commercial seller just a private nonbusiness user.

So I posted an ad for land and got an immediate response.

Instead of seeing the usual CL coded email address i.e. (g6j77njm) this email response used the exact wording from my ad with plus signs between each word i.e. (Cheap+Five+Acre+Lots+In+Arizona).

Over the past three months this has happened with more frequency and i cant seem to get a definitive answer about why what im seeing.

What is up?

Prolly a noob question, i haz the dumbs ill confess and i apologize if this question has been posted before, but is this a scammer or just another option from CL.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like a programmer made an encoding error.

When you post your ad, are you composing it in a word processor and pasting it into Craigslist? It's possible you could be introducing hidden code into the text if you use that method.

Default How+About+A+Little+Test

So its happening to me but is it happening to others.

I know its asking a lot from strangers but...
Anybody willing to create 10 control ads and post em up on CL to see what happens?
Just to test if anyone can replicate my experience.

I just posted a CL ad for a truck for sale and the first response was the exact ad title separated by (+) signs.

Is this big brother, big sister or a big nothing?

Nope. Just using the iphone.
This has happened over the last few months and with several different ads.
The first response almost always has the + signs and to date the respondent has never returned our response or made further contact...

Im inclined to embrace conspiracy theories but i can seem to create a plausible conspiracy theory to explain this.
