Take away from the article: About 1 in 200 people identifies as transgender in the United States. That is 1.4 million people just here in America! There are no tests that can be done to know if someone is transgender - the only way to know is from the person telling you.
Wow, over 10,000 years of human history and human philosophy is somehow wrong just because Human Society suddenly changed and some incredible enlightenment has uniquely occurred within the last 10 years.
There have always been hermaphrodites... though nowadays the fluidity of gender identity is such that you can change genders, or have none at all with only a signature to a doctor and find a nonprofit willing to spend $10,000 to reassign you to the desired gender. $10,000 by the way that would match the total income of a total SSDI dependent...
You can't hold up Hermaphrodites as the primary reason a person can wake up one day and decide "Maybe I want to be like a woman" when their **** argues with them every time they walk into a convenience store and see a 30ish woman bent over to look at the bottom of the cooler for a quart of Milk... especially the kind of women who would wear almost nothing and the side of her areole hangs out of some strategically placed piece of masking tape... and your stomach growls at the suggestion, so you go over to serendipitously get a bottle of Promised Land, or HEB if you're broke enough for something not so creamy and satisfying. That's when you get nailed for sexual harassment when you notice the tape slip off, and you end up on the floor with a lump on the head, and a lump somewhere else. Denied... and if you can't get something that sleezy, you're thinking maybe you just plain aren't manly enough. So it's over to the magazine rack for a Hustler magazine, and a bottle of lotion... and in the confusion you start to wonder about PlayGirl. Now you're curious... because someone told you enough that you weren't manly.
Such men might consider the world of hard-up women... like Cougars, Bi-Sexual Dykes, Ex-Convicts, Drug Addicts, Widowed Retiree's, and rehabilitated Prostitutes... all of which just plain want someone to not leave home and not leave them to die alone. But women like that often leave me divided. You should feel sympathy and love for those in need, but if you know that women like that put themselves in those kind of situations out of their own stupidity, particularly if she's ruined by an uncurbable venereal disease then you should consider the expiration date on the jug and remember that the long removed sticker says "IF SEAL IS BROKEN, DO NOT USE." So you take those As-Is, and remember that the transmission slips sometimes and they might be a little higher on matinance than most others on the car lot, decide if she's classy enough for the total restoration and bumper job that comes with a vintage vehicle. Before you know it you will be taking her to the car show and showing her off to everyone's envy. She might even make it to the magazine cover. But you'll always need to handle a little more gently, and repairs are more expensive.
Or maybe it's just simpler than that. Tell boys they are boys and kick around abusive dads who call their little boys "Girlie" for liking musical Insturments instead of a football, or liking to paint instead of roll in the mud. Growing up that way as the sensitive guy but athletic enough to not be totally gone got me laid plenty of times. The girl of your dreams is the one that relates to you and isn't just looking at your penis size or your car, or money - she'll be out the door faster than you can say "WARTS" when that all goes away. Rather, the way you call her boss when she's cramping and make sure she's OK for that once a month ache before you head for work. Women like that will wait for you to get in the shower and aches pains and all for a rehash of Bon Jovi's "Slippery when Wet." A woman like that, no matter how imperfect is the kind of woman who keep. Your best friend... in the opposite side of the isle.
But this all goes out the window when people just don't think about what matters, and that's consistent definitions in society from a young age on where right and wrong, and what human language actually means.

Just a note - modern science has often overturned the past 10,000 years of human history and philosophy. That’s why we have computers now even though we didn’t then, among other changes.
You are young, so I take your question as a legitimate one rather than trolling. In short, "man" and "woman" are not scientific words, any more than "English" or "American" have "scientific" definitions. When I was working at hospital when I was a teenager, there was a patient there that was a hermaphrodite. That illumination pretty much ended any nonsense I might have had about black and white sexual delineations. From that point on, the sputterings of uneducated preachers, homophobes, and politicians were amply apparent to me as "wishful thinking and personal feelings."
Bravo! I was in healthcare for 25 years and came across transgender, homosexuals, and heterosexuals. In the end they are all flesh and blood and deserved to be treated with dignity and respect. Being born different can not be legislated away, and we should be kind to people who may very well have a difficult life becaue of being born different. Ignorance and obsolete ideologies need to be kicked to the curb.
The science pretty much begins and ends with the chromosomes. All kinds of things can happen after that to both the body and the mind, but barring a microscopic number of abnormalities, everyone is XX or XY... and has to make the best of what that and development gave them.

Yeah well, did computers change your chromosomes or your physical anatomy at birth? No. Actually drugs are more likely to do that - and drugs didn't really exist like they do now until 1794. Related, but not entirely the point. Actually drugs and birth defects are a nasty problem which people just don't confront deadbeat moms about. Their uterus is fertile ground for scientific research materials... and they get Welfare for their troubles.
Science also said prior to 1860 that Meteorites weren't real... and the National Science Foundation (rather, one of it's predecessors) had to admit it was that badly stupid about it.
Science also said in the 1940's (and in certain circles still does) that people who are Jews are genetically deficient. 2 million died for that bull****, and prior to that the Germans euthanized nearly 80% of their "Mentally Ill" population after they forcibly drugged their political dissidents in the early 1930's.
Science also created pesticides, which cause horrible tumors in animals and human beings. The related to drugs field of Toxicology should be of consideration.
Science yes created computers, but computers sent to Africa, China, and India and are not properly recycled sit on the ground and release toxins into the air, causing God knows how many air problems.
Science also created CFC's - blamed for a long time for Ozone depletion.
Incidently - Science, Computers, and Industrial automation has created sex robots. Want to ***** about gender roles? If you don't value being a man or a woman, or a human being, then you can be replaced for that too with a programmable android which once AI gets good enough will be able to act out anything you desire! See a porno you like? Program your woman to do it for you... just like MDMA and Hypnotics can! The difference is she isn't a biological person, so what's the big deal? Will we demand humans follow suit in order to be valued... or are you already doing that? Maybe you already are by demanding people conform to abstracts.

I did VERY WELL in Science Class... I just don't have the pom-poms that tell every child to be a Scientist since I have watched how Science has a good, AND a bad side. No honest criticism of any topic is valid without admitting to shot-comings. Actually, I spent 6 years in the computer industry refurbishing, recycling, and working with Computer repairs. Blue collar by many standards, but it IS a Computer Science field regardless and the standards and experience it requires are no less difficult than low level medical degrees such as the LVN and the pay is almost the same on average. I am more aware than you know of how science has changed lives in the last 40 years, and how technology is now on every level being integrated into our homes and bodies. You can say "I know science". I have WORKED in Science and it's Industrial application. I WILL NOT argue that Science is a requirement for modern life. But it should not become your Religious philosophy.
Science, particularly INDUSTRIAL Science on EVERY LEVEL does nothing for moral arguments. It only demonstrates what can be created and accomplished, what can be produced, bought, and sold. You have to separate out what can be produced, and what is right and wrong to avoid all these great Fiascos of Science. Not even bringing them into classrooms is half the reason we're in such a mess! If I went into a Catholic Church and they minimized or ignored a pedophile priest, clearly they weren't taking any moral responsibility for what happened. When Science as philosophy ignores it's own failings, it's at best no better than the Religions it claims superiority to.
Actually Science RARELY overturns Philosophy. If it ever could, people would quit having wars, get some laboratory grade MDMA and CBD, and screw until everyone passes out in a field like the Ancient Greeks did 3,000 years before MDMA was developed by Science (1912). Heaven to many people, right? Until some kind of bacteria breaks out, or an uninhibited idiot sticks it in a Monkey like what happened in Bangladesh. Now we have AIDS because of that crap and people would rather die than consider the moral implications of putting it where it doesn't belong, or how often. Well, more power to those idiots. Actually the Atheist point of view would offer Darwin Awards for that level of stupidity.
If you were a Science teacher, I would pull my child out. Fluid identity is a massive reason people are all screwed up right now. But fluid identities are easily taken advantage of by manipulative people and I would NEVER suggest a child or any human being be treated that way.
One more thing - the Chromosome guys have got me convinced.
