I dropped one of my AirPods on my dirty dorm floor. I ran out of wet wipes and need to get more at the store. Would it be ok if I wiped it with a wet paper towel?

Yes. While not water rated some people have accidentally left them in pants pockets and ended up in the washing machine - with no permanent harm.

Yup, you can wipe out your Ear pods with a wet towel but at your own risk because if you don't have a warranty or waterproof then you can lose your Earpods too.
