I wanted this because I've never been able to get the Netflix downloads to work on any of my Windows computers. Most of my computers are Macs, which aren't supported for use with the download service anyway.

Yeah, graphics cards can put the kabash on Netflix. It also requires IE and won't run on Firefox.

I got my Netflix player last week. It's a great little box that's super-easy to connect and use. Picture quality is quite good, too. Overall, the only drawback is the limited number of titles available from the Netflix library. If you have widely-varied taste in movies and an interest in films that are more than 5 years old, you should find plenty to like in the instant-viewing options. If you only care about films and shows from the past decade, then you might not find much to watch on this player.

Has anyone tried this? Connected to the internet (via router or wi-fi) it sends streaming movies to a television. NF has offered streaming movies, via internet to watch on your pc for quite awhile. This new black box sends the movie to a tv instead, seemingly with more options. I have never tried the pc streaming option.

I have it and I love it. My family has easily watched $99 worth of shows/movies on it in the time I have had it. We've watched more stuff on that box in 2 months than we had rented in 2 years of Netflix membership.

I could never get the PC streaming to work correctly on a PC and it wasn't compatible with most of my computers, since they are Macs.

I haven't tried it yet because we'll be relocating soon. Chances are we may set it up at the new place. I've been a happy Flix fan since '03 so I'm looking forward to it!

I never did the streaming to PC because I use Firefox and Firefox and Flix don't mix .

I have and it is great. I saw all the outer limits on my pc. I only wish my monitor was bigger or I could connect my pc to my tv

I've been a Windows MediaCenter user for about 4 years, and have been using Vista for it for about a year and a half. I'm not a huge MS fan, but MediaCenter is a pretty slick app. The PC we use is a dedicated HTPC (Home Theater PC) - there's no keyboard or mouse hooked up and it's used (almost) exclusively for media.

There's an add-in (a couple of them, actually) for MC that allows you to watch Netflix movies through the MC interface. They're a little bit clunky, but they do work - and no new set top box is needed.

I'm sure it's a pretty slick device, and if we didn't already have a similar (and IMHO, better) solution, I'd be pretty likely to give it a try.

What kind of TV do you have capt? Most newer TVs have VGA and/or DVI inputs, so if you've got a later model, you may be able to hook it up. The TV we're using now is a 32" LG LCD widescreen, connected to the HTPC via VGA, and it looks and works great.
