My wife has a roll of electrical tape that she uses to cover all those little lights. Works quite well.

Funny thing about all those things is that they draw power even when they aren't on. you can go around with a meter testing them to see how many watts they pull. Add them all up and you might be surprised how much power you are using when the entire house is shut off. *chuckle*
