I love that site. Alllllll kinds of ways for the human race to go extinct.

Great site. One of my favorites! More scenarios than you can shake a stick at.

Very politely and without pointing any fingers someone was basically "wrong" not in opinion or relative coincidence but unquestionably incorect. This was pointed out and the person did notreply with oh your right I'm wrong.
This is how man "deserves " to become extinct.
Wether he excells forward in shedding the shell of his humanity may well depend on his ability to humble himself in pursuit of the road to better himself .
Kicking and screaming like a little baby when your "wrong" with railroading smoke screens is just the recipe that mother nature is satisfyed with in partying away with
the aforementioned reset button. I'm referring to the population discourse.
Who loves you baby ? If your wrong or mostly wrong ...then maybe

Maybe we won't?

Well okay, when the universe basically dies we will. Unless we discover wormholes and the multiverse exist and we could figure out how to use the wormhole to travel to another "level" of the multiverse...... I think I've been watching too much Sci Fi. lol

Not that any of it matters to me, I'll be long gone.

DNA degradation will do mankind in 100,000 years alone. Males will extinct by then. However, environmental issues decimated sperm count for an average man. If the trend will not stop, 100% sterility is a matter of a few centuries.

I am not sure any species has died of a virus or bacteria. Or at least it's quite rare.

Humans have some survival advantages. We are omnivorous, we live on all the continents, and we are able to maintain adequate body temperature through clothing. In addition we are not that old as a species. The estimates I've read place our specific species as 200,000-250,000 years old, give or take some. By one estimate the lifespan of a mammalian species is about a million years. So we might be only about a quarter of the way done as a species.

Extinction rates - Google Books

If I were to guess on our extinction I'd say asteroid impact, an extreme solar event, environmental collapse, or being out-competed by a successor species. The successor species would likely be one we create through genetic engineering or artificial intelligence. I'm not imagining them killing us off just filling our role so well we become redundant, atrophy, and die. (I don't think we would allow this to occur though) Another possibility is accidental suicide in some form. We do something incredibly stupid, but not malicious like war, which kills everyone.
