I have spent my life repairing things. When someone decided it would be a good idea to introduce an different system I had to buy thousands of dollars worth of new tools and tool storage to hold additional items. It would be interesting to figure how much fuel has been used by mobile technicians driving to places with the additional weight of metric tools and hardware. It's all a plot by Snap-on, Matco, Cornwell and Craftsman.

Does anyone here remember (late 60's) when in Calif they tried to force the change from Gals to Ltrs at the gas stations and the people fought the change which did revert back to the old gal on the pump. Neighborhood station had a sign at the driveway entrance stateing the price per Ltr.
Wonder how those in EU would like the US to force the use of Gals as the form of measurement at their gas pumps?
I go back and forth in my mind all of the time. 5lbs of potatoes will always be that. Although I do order my deli items in grams or ml. I still think of weather in Fahrenheit instead of Celcius. Speedometers are dual--100 km is 63 miles per hour. Some people adjusted and some didn't. The government spent billions trying to convert your basic Canuck and there are mixed results. The only reason this was done was to bring us up to "par" with the rest of the world, so we would not look like freezing ignoramuses in the GWN. Um, okay, sure...
You think the way the American money system is structured sucks??? Is counting to 10, 100, 1000 and dividing by 10 too complicated for you?
Nope, anybody can do it that way. Takes actually using your brains to do our complete system.
