I was just watching this video and wondering how that guy can survive like that, without eating or drinking anything for decades
They say he lives on sunlight. Is that scientifically possible? Even plants need water and nutrients.

And even if it is possible to live that way, does it make sense unless you are a very religious person who is not interested in earthly things anyway?

Fakirs claim a lot of stuff that they don't do. Often the reason is to use the "power" as a come-on to get more people interested in their religion/way of life/philosophy.

I know. Being an atheist, I am quite suspicious myself. Still, they were controlling that guy 24/7 for 10 days in a row, and he did not eat or drink anything, nor did he have to go to the toilet. And he was doing fine after that period

It's bull****. Don't believe what you see on youtube, question everything, believe in GOD and as for everyone else tell them to bring their data.

Calling it bull**** and telling me to believe in god is a bit contradictory, frankly

Like our planet, the human body is about 75% water. The average person would die in about three days if they did not consume any water (keep in mind that you get water when you drink coffee, beer, juice, eat fruit, vegetables, etc.).

Also, to live off sunlight would mean that photosynthesis takes place, and for photosynthesis to take place would require chlorphyll a - which humans do not have. So, unless this guy has some kind of symbiotic relationship with a plant or algae, it is not going to happen.

Photosynthesis just uses UV light to catalyze carbohydrates into energy, plants and algae still need water, minerals, and other nutrients to function, live.

By the way, nice to see the subtitles in Polish

"By the way, nice to see the subtitles in Polish."

Ah. Now we have the answer. This is obviously the Polish National Health Care Plan. The standard is that nobody eats or drinks, but has to get better on a diet of sunlight. Imagine the cost cutting by using this approach.

That would depend on your definition of god.
