Here is a video and links exploring the definition of an ElectroMagnetic Pulse(EMP) and it's consequences for our digital/electrically driven modern society.

Remember all it takes will be one...two at the most...atmospheric detonations to cripple any country for possibly months; as all unshielded electronics will be rendered totally useless and most likely unrepairable.

You're welcome, I only post it cause I'm kinda nerdy...LOL...and most people are not aware of an ElectroMagnetic Pulse and the damage it woud do. If a large scale nuclear exchange ever were contemplated...our adversary would detonate one or two devices above the country. If you went through links you can see the chaos that would ensue.

A more plausible scenario would be a terrorist group detonating one nuclear weapon above say Kansas City...in the upper atmosphere....crippling our nation for months and destroying all electronics that were not hardened against an EMP Wave as well as erasing most digital data. I just am fascinated by these things....and I really hope they never occur, but people should be aware and educated as it is not beyond the realm of possibility.

Yes, that's why I use a gigantic MP3 player with vacuum tubes in it that I must cart in a wheel barrow in front of me when I run. I don't want an EMP burst to stop the music.

LOL...but I'm afraid it will "fry" vacuum tubes as well...as far as my understanding of an EMP.....however you are welcome to try a foot of lead shielding...I can guarantee you that that will save your data and electronics; however you better have a portable generator because the electrical grid will go down. ;-) PS...that's gonna make the wheelbarrow mighty heavy...good exercise though...LOL....

I thought I was the only one that did this.
