Just saw your most recent post, just remember for every bad thing you hear it will take 10 good things for it to seem to balance. So you may hear people complaining a lot but look at it in the positive sense. There are PLENTY of people who love the area and wouldn't trade it for anything else. and they have tried other places and always seem to return.
that is a very bold statement...

out of curiousity, what are you planning to accomplish with this post?

It reminds me of Megan, a very obese, deformed woman married with another loser who hated to live in Santa Monica and moved up here. I wonder why she hated Santa Monica.
You exemplify why I hate L.A. It's full of terrible people who think they are Übermensch just because they are more "attractive," who look down upon the "ugly" people as the dregs of the earth, when those people are probably a lot more intelligent and nice. As Bill Gates said (?), be nice to nerds, because you might be working for one, oneday.

Do you really think you're somehow better than me, just because you might fit better into what society defines as being "attractive"?

BAHAHAA that is just classic!!! Quite possibly the funniest thing I have read in 2010...I didn't know people truly had that mindset. What fools!

There are PLENTY of people who care only about appearance and looks and metrosexual style etc. city slickers etc etc etc etc outside of LA and NYC.
Gentoo, i see you are in the East bay. I just moved from Vacaville recently, and can attest that from that description it appears as thought platinum blonde made that up and has never been to SF.
there is a huge variety of people and plenty with the description mentioned!

It sounds like everything to this person is boring unless it involves shopping and looking at Calvin Klein models

Exactly! I was in Seattle for only a week or so and I saw a huge variety of what this city has to offer. I saw how diverse it really is. It doesn't take much effort to see this in Seattle, it's all around you.

I don't think this person has ever even been to Seattle, let alone lived there.

Dear, I am not platinum blonde and I was not even born in LA. Saying that Seattle is clean and LA is dirty is a commonplace, a cliché. I have to admit that people, mostly guys, have tried to befriend me, but it just doesn't work, there is no chemistry. They are lifeless. Think with your mind, if you have one, instead of conforming to the general rule that Seattle is a paradise. Bashing LA is politically correct because a lot of people in LA are succesful, beautiful, glamurous rich and educated, and because you have an inferiority complex, you have to bash the rich and succesful. You must be kidding, right. There are so many areas in Seattle that are utterly disgusting, dirty and challenge the existence of God. Yes, there are bad areas in LA, of course, but when I say LA I mean a lot of areas, even surrounding areas like Calabasas, Studio City, Orange County. I just had high expectations about Seattle because I was told this was a modern, important city and reality is it's just a big town. The worst part is that I can't have access to all the resources I had in LA. I'm sick and tired of looking for a particular service that is normal in a city like LA or NY and people here have not even heard of it. Maybe people wouldn't hate Seattle so much if it was presented for what it really is: a decadent town.

Listen PlatinumLA whatever you are; I know people from LA and you do not represent most of them in any way. You seem to be implying that Seattle is not a beautiful place shows just how clueless you really are. You obviously have no clue about Seattle at all what so ever. If you want to go around a bash cities, you had better stick to the east coast places because I know most of the west coast ones and will call you out on your BS. Seattle is one of the best cities in the US. Perhaps the most underrated city. Everything you are saying just proves that you know nothing about what you're talking about. I can understand if Seattle isn't your cup of tea. It isn't for everyone. However to start a thread in the Seattle forum to bash the city to it's locals and those who love it proves what your motives are.
