Hi All,

Don't you hate it when you brake your promises to yourself? Well, I did just that a few months ago with giving Comcast another try after many years away, and wow, the service is just as bad as ever with horrible CS. I live in the northern Bellevue area (near MS) and am really, really after another provider.

I'm ok with a lesser theoritical speed, just as long as it's decent. I lose connectivity about 10 times a day and have wasted days jumping through their hoops, all to no avail. I'm ready to jump ship and go with another provider that is RELIABLE, even if a bit slower on paper.

What are my options in my area? Something, I hope!

Thanks!

I've heard good things about Verizon Fios, but don't know where they offer service. You can type in your address on their website and it will tell you if you're in their coverage area.

I use Comcast Xfinity and the speed is incredibly fast. They provide a wireless router and we have great connectivity throughout the house.

Other than Comcast you can try:

- Verizon Fios (best choice, but possibly not available in your area)
- Qwest (slower than Verizon + Comcast, but they have a good deal where you get any speed for $20 for 6 months)
- Clearwire (It's wireless so you can take your internet with you. However, you may find reception issues)
- Speakeasy (It's generally love or hate which this company)

Thanks!

Can anyone speak to the reliability and up-time of Qwest and Speakeasy (FIOS isnt here, it seems)? I love speed, but speed without dependability means nothing.

FIOS is available in parts of the Seattle area. Most people like Qwest DSL, but I didn't. I was getting kicked off the internet too frequently, but I think it depends on where you live, and I live close to the end of the earth.
