Hey, i'm looking at moving to seattle in 1-2 years with my wife and 2 toddlers. We've looked into the job market, cost of living, rain etc...We feel pretty comfortable about the area and definetly love everything it has to offer.

Something that i was pondering though was youth sports. Do a lot of kids play soccer, football, baseball etc??? I'm assuming of course just like every other city out there. But do these sports, especially late fall and early spring get rained out a lot? or do they play the games in the rain?

I know it may be a silly question, but i'm obviously an outsider who has never lived there.

thanks

Soccer almost never gets rained out. I spent way too many rainy Saturday mornings watching my son play soccer in the rain. I don't think football gets rained out either, but baseball sometimes does.
It doesn't rain that hard that often in Seattle.

They play in the rain unless it's lightening or the field will be damaged. But it takes a lot of rain to get the fields to that point. At one of our Little League playoff games, the coaches used a gas powered blower to blow water out of puddles on the field. Now that was a first for me!
