There's a nice one in Issaquah and then there is the popular one in Lacey, WA. It is called Jubilee.

I would second Jubilee with CityGirl72. My only caveat is that the entire Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater area is experiencing tremendous growth... with Lacey leading the way.

Jubilee is definitely worth a look... just try a Google search.

Good Luck

I think the one in Issaquah which CityGirl might have been referring to is Providence Point. I believe Bellewood is the name of the over-55 apartments that provide rentals there.

Default Rentals in Kirkland

There is a senior rental community in Kirkland called Woodlands at Forbes Lake. These are condo style apartments which I believe are pretty new and look very nice. The website is [url]www.housing4seniors.com.
Just click on Shag communities and it will not only show you the one in Kirkland, it will also show you others in and around Seattle. The thing I liked about the one in Kirkland is that they call them apartments but they actually look just like Condos. I think you need to be income qualified which means they have a max. annual salary that you can make in order to live there.

The Lakeshore senior retirement community in Renton has great views of Lake Washington and Mt. Rainier and takes good care of their residents.

We have been looking at retirement communities for the eventiality that we may be going to one. For some reason we got on the retirement communities's mailing lists and have been invited to all kinds of open-houses and sales presentations. Most are very expensive highrise condos with little dinky apartments. The community we liked best was Panarama City in Lacy. This community is very expansive with individual homes, duplexes or highrise condos. Beutifully landscaped, a large lake, mini-golf course and hiking/biking trails that connect with the State's nature trails. They are still expanding and are buying up neighboring homes as soon as they come on the market. Soon they will probably occupy the entire city of Lacy. The one near Issaquah is very nice as well.
Most retirement communities have long waiting lists to even get in and require a large deposite to even get on the waiting list. Your best chance is to get into a newly built community which has not been completely occupied yet. The Hearthstone by Green Lake is expanding and the large Seaview Retirement community on First Hill still have vacancies.
If you ever go into the Swedish Hopital, they have in their lobby a good magazine for senior citizens, 'Senior Guidebook' or email: d.kiersky@frontier.com.
