There may or may not be an answer to this either way but I thought I'd ask.
We have a gas dryer and we are trying to decide if we should bring it with us or not on our cross-country move to Seattle. I do know of some locations (or perhaps they are just locations within locations) that do not typically have ability to use gas dryers. Or perhaps gas is not a common utility in Seattle? I know in our house here the previous owner preferred it when the house was built so it was added as an option. Do you think most homes would not have gas dryer hook up?
We are going into corporate housing for 2 months and storing our belongings in the mean time. We will look for a home to buy when we get there- this is why I don't know now if I should bring it or leave it for the people who will be renting our home here in DE.
Should I bring a window AC unit? It's heavy and takes up space!
While the company is paying for the move, we have to pay for storage and moving out of it in a couple months so I am weeding out what I can now!

I personally would say no to both-by the time you get there you will not need the ac- and what if you get a house with a different kind of windows then yours will accomodate?- plus they are relatively cheap to buy- not worth the hassle of moving around- as to the gas dryer- just go to Seattle craigslist- and type in gas dryer-there were probably at least 20 listed just today-again- not worth the hassle of moving yours. good luck with your move!

I moved here from TX and hauled my gas dryer all the way only to find out that gas dryers are not common here, at least not for houses built in the 80's. It would have been expensive to convert and then gas is more expensive here than electricity. Opposite in TX. I went to Lowe's and bought a cheaper Amana electric dryer for like $275. I also would not drag a window AC unit out here. You may not have the right windows in the place you land.
