I will be flying to Seattle mid November from Central Florida. I may relocate in early 2011. I will only have a few days to see the city. What area of Seattle do you recommend I spend the most time. I would like to see some of the nightlife. What area do you recommend I avoid?

If you're looking to move to Seattle proper, the areas North of downtown are nicer. South of downtown has more crime, but is still quite safe compared to nearly any other major city in the US. Belltown has a decent amount of nightlife.

I also visited Seattle for much the same reasons you are although my plans to move there have fallen through he cracks at present. As packet mentioned. most areas north of downtown are really nice. In fact. from the areas I saw you can't really go wrong IMO. I did the touristy things and a little scouting of the city as well.

November should be rainy and somewhat cold, so it's not a great time to visit. There a lot of things downtown you could see to minimize getting wet like the waterfront with restaurants, shops and the Seattle Aquarium. Then there's the Space Needle north a bit of downtown and the Pacific Science center.

Visiting in November will probably give you a good taste of what I consider the worst thing about the area--lack of sunshine for a lot of the year. That doesn't bother some people, but it does me. I love Seattle except for that.

If you visited in July, you'd have to be a very odd person (imo) to think it was anything but gorgeous. It really is, except for the almost perpetual overcast half the year. I love the Seattle area.

Yep, November is typically the rainiest month of the year in Seattle. Just be ready for that.

November is stormy and is expected to be much moreso this year. Try to center your trip around indoor things. Months like that are good for people who are into art, entertainment, food and beer.
