Also, Camwest and DR Horton. Oh, and I'm sure most know that Quadrant is parnters with Murray Franklyn at the ridge. Just FYI I find it takes me about 10 minutes to get to Issaquah.

There are some Stafford Homes also. Do you have children? If so, then where you live in Snoqualmie Ridge will determine which elementary and middle schools they will go to. If you are in some of the older areas, your children will attend Cascade View Elementary and Chief Kanim Middle. If you are in some of the newer areas they will attend Snoqualmie Elementary and Snoqualmie Middle.

I'm also looking at this area, as I'll be working in the new casino starting this fall.

Coming from Las Vegas, I have a great disdain for the master planned communities similar to what has been described when discussing Snoqualmie Ridge. I'd much rather live in an older neighborhood with some walking culture and a more eclectic mix of homes and people. Am I going to find this in either Snoqualmie or North Bend? How about Issaquah? What are the pros and cons?

thanks for all the input, guys!

North Bend, for which you might not have "disdain". You might want to use the Search function on this forum to get some more info on North Bend. Nice town.

It appears that the era of developments such as Snoqualmie Ridge and Redmond Ridge may be over.

Recently the Puget Sound Regional Council approved a plan called Vision 2040 that disallow the creation of new urban centers such as Snoqualmie Ridge. Among the reasons cited were that these types of developments tend to overwhelm rural roads as the new residents drive elsewhere to work, shop and attend school. I remember when Redmond Ridge was first proposed, some of the reasons cited by opponents are the very same reasons they might be disallowed.

A quote from the Seattle Times: Mini-city plan could be turning point for Snohomish County

"That would please the Puget Sound Regional Council's executive board. Three weeks ago, the board endorsed Vision 2040, a regional planning strategy that includes a new goal: Counties should avoid creating fully contained communities "because of their potential to create sprawl and undermine state and regional growth-management goals."

Another quote: Steering growth to Seattle, urban areas

"Vision 2040, adopted overwhelmingly Thursday by elected officials from four counties and more than 40 cities, also opposes building any more "fully contained communities," such as Redmond Ridge, in rural areas."

My, how far we have come, just a few years ago these type of developments were supposed to be the answer to our growth...

The towns of both North Bend and Snoqualmie have charm and lots of older homes..North Bend has a great Italian restaurant..
I'm an Issaquah fan. Traffic on Front Street can be brutal, but there's lots to do there, great hiking, great shopping.

I remember just a couple of years ago taking friends and family from out of town out to Snoqualmie Falls and the quaint little town. I was so disappointed when they built Snoqualmie Ridge and the gigantic monstrosity of a road leading to it. It's not even that attractive imho. More cars, more traffic and probably more strip malls.

All of you who are "trashing" Quadrant must feel that there are major systems issues with their construction methods. Really?? What exactly do they do wrong?

After mold was found in the attic of a house in a Snoqualmie development, inspectors found that a dryer vent had been routed to the attic but never piped through to the outdoors, according to depositions taken by the plaintiffs' attorneys, Lory Lybeck and Katherine Felton of the Mercer Island firm Lybeck Murphy LLP. In another home, remediation crews found more than 1,200 square feet of mold.

Owners sue Quadrant Homes over 'sick' houses

I'd have to guess we can throw those who are attempting the class action lawsuit into the "trashing" pile.

LOVE THE MOLD! Kneel before it's *KAFF KAFF Gurgle* power!

Just thought I'd chime in on our Quadrant Homes experience. We have several friends (one in Renton, two in Snoqualmie Ridge) who have Quadrant Homes and have nothing but postive things to say about the building process and the quality of their houses. In fact, some of them have been there for years and for any small issues for a new house (nail pops etc.) , Quadrant came out and fixed it BEYOND the warrenty for free. But none of them nor their neighbors have had any issues at all.

In fact, their houses came so recommended through friends and Google (over all the other builders!) We are in the process right now of building a house on the Ridge out in Snoqualmie. So far, it has been an awesome experience....plus, they let you design the whole house as you want! We were able to modify the entire floor plan to our liking and get the house exactly like we wanted....something the other builders would not even entertain! The loan process, the upgrades, the modifications and the entire process has been the easiest and most fun out of any new house we've ever built.

For perspective, google 'DR. Horton Reviews' or 'Pulte Homes Review' and you'll be surprised at how many owners are furious with them. Then Google Quadrant Homes Reviews...and you'll notice quite the contrast.
