I will be in Seattle for a couple weeks. I will take the ferry from Bremerton, land over in Seattle and walk to where I need to go. Any good bars in the area just to chill and listen to good music.

Depends on your definition of good, but the Pioneer Square area is walking distance from the ferry. The Central is there and usually has local bands.

Pioneer Square has a few. Short walk/bus ride to Showbox SODO or Showbox Market or Crocodile. Short walk/bus ride up to Capitol Hill for Neumos, Comet, Chop Suey, et al. Grab a Stranger (free) and look over all the music listings -- there are plenty.

Default Music & More

I'd add Highway 99 on Alaskan Way for blues, Hard Rock Cafe by the Market, Triple Door by Benaroya.

Nice that three downtown venues now have early evening live music on a somewhat regular basis:
Hard Rock Cafe - starting at 5pm or 5:30pm on Th and/or Fri.
Triple Door's Musiquarium - starting around the same on Wed and/or Th, Fri.
Pike Place Bar & Grill - starting around 6pm on Wed.
