Default Need to visit a low-cost clinic/doctor that accepts the uninsured

I have no health insurance and recently moved to Seattle. Been coughing in the mornings lately and getting some blood in my cough. Same thing happened a few months ago.

Does anyone know of a good quality place that accepts and gives discounts to the uninsured? I don't care if it is a private practice, community clinic or lung related research center.

Thanks.

Buy private health insurance, if you can. It'll cost you as much as a doctor's visit for a month. We are lucky to live in a state with affordable private plans.

There's a website: ehealthinsurance, that will help you compare plans. You should really consider it. One visit to a specialist can cost you $200-$400. One visit to the hospital and you'll be in debt for a while.

Country Doctor, Odessa Brown, and the 45th St clinic are good community clinics within Seattle.
Outside of the city, the Healthpoint clinics are awesome. They're in Kent, Renton, Redmond? and a few other places, twelve clinics in all. All of these will treat you whether or not you have insurance, and charge on a sliding scale fee based on your income.

Seconding the Country Doctor choice.

If you still are having trouble, call Group Health during business hours at 206-326-3530 and ask them about community clinics and they'll point you in the right direction.

Default Check out Sprig Health

Hey, you should check out Sprig Health. They just launched in Seattle like a month ago, it's a good way to book a doctors appointment if you don't have insurance or want to pay cash.

I bet you can find what you're looking for on there. Moderator cut: link removed
