Any ideas, or suggestions are welcome, and appreciated. Our family will be relocating from Dallas, to Seattle. We have already visited Seattle, and know this is where we want to be. With this being the middle of winter, the "Man of the house" will be going first to accept one of the many job offers that he has already received. However, during this transition, he will need a short term, low cost room for rent, or something like this in the Seattle area. During his first visit, he rented a room in the downtown Seattle area, but this landlord refuses to any type of a written lease agreement, which makes us very uncomfortable. Nothing fancy is needed, as this will only be temporary for 1 to 2 mos. We thank you in advance for your input, and time.

Default Google is a great source for information.

Thank you for your reply. Google. is one of our many primary search engines we use for such things as this, and we have found some locations. But there are several ads which are not as they seem, and are far from trustworthy. However, we do like to research multiple avenues, and with this forum being of such great assistance for families relocating to the Seattle area, we like to research other possibilities/options which may not be shown on Google, or other search engines. Thanks again, Jewels

Craigslist is the standard answer. Hotpads.com is useful too, along with padmapper.com and aptfinder.org.

Just walking and driving around is another good way to find places, especially small-time landlords that rely on word of mouth and a sign in the yard.

Agreed- try Craigslist in the sublets section, hopefully you can find a room to rent for a month.

Thank you for your replies, any suggestions are appreciated. A special thank you to stealthrabbit for your time, and in sending the additional, and detailed information. That was of great assistance. We're very cautious of craigslist, as we have viewed alot of wrong doings on this specific site. hotpads, and backpage, have also been a positive search site. Thank you again...
