Default Tell me about Lake Forest Park

Well, I'm looking to move to the Seattle area and know many locals who live there. I've talked to them, and the areas that came up most were the Lake Forest Park/Shoreline area and Bellevue for having good schools and low crime rates, along with some nice views. Now, after looking into it myself, I've found Bellevue to be way expensive and I've heard the westside of shoreline isn't as good as the Lake Forest Park area. So I'm looking to buy a nice house in the Lake Forest Park area, but I want to hear what you guys have to say before I make the buy.

EDIT: Whoops, meant to post this in the Seattle forum, could someone move it? Thanks.

Better to leave your thread here in the Washington forum. Right now, we're trying to limit the Seattle forum to neighborhood inside the Seattle city limits.

Lake Forest Park might be a hidden gem to a lot of folks. It is actually an incorporated city and has a low crime rate and is relatively diverse demographically. I believe the schools would be part of the Shoreline school district which has its pros and cons. I think Lake Forest Park is a good choice for a lot of people.

Lake Forest Park is also very close to Bothell and Kenmore which are in the reputable Northshore school district and in a lower crime area as well.

Ok, thank you, I think I will make the move, but I'll check out the Bothell and Kenmore area as well.

Thumbs down not happy in Shoreline/ Lk Forest Park

Lk. Forest Park is Part of the Shoreline School District. The SSD is having MAJOR finanical problems that will last for years, we just closed 2 elementary schools, and they are still in the "Red". I have lived here for 13yrs & have an 19 & 8 yr old, the 19yr old left the school system last year for Shoreline CC., as he wasn't getting a good education, My 8yr olds School was just closed. She is now out of District. The School Disrtict, was great around 6yrs ago & has gone down hill since. The School Board doesn't believe in "Kids & Teachers 1st", they spend huge amounts of money, they don't have. The Parents in the Community are trying to get rid of 3 Board members, to try & clean things up.

I wouldn't move here if I had to. Try Bothel & Kenmore or even Edmonds.
