I agree with some of the previous posts, Singles is a mediocre movie but has great sound track...plus it's got Pearl Jam in it, so I watched it lots of times, no matter how mediocre it is! ;-)

Before I moved here I watched some Seattle-related movies. Sleepless in Seattle is terrible but probably a question of taste. I found Battle in Seattle quite interesting. The story itself is a little overdramatic but it gives some good insight into the events during the G7-riots.

The most interesting I found a documentary about The Gits, an early 90s Seattle band whose female singer got murdered one night one the way home from the Comet Tavern in Capitol Hill. Gives some great insight into the Seattle music scene at the time...

... and of course there's Twin Peaks...not really Seattle but round the corner in Snoqualmie/North bend...I still have to go a have a cherry pie at Twede's Cafe in North Bend

I have to admit, I have a soft spot for Singles. It's not a great movie IMO but a decent one that brings back memories of growing up in the early 90's and obsessing about music coming out of Seattle. I think it's awesome that Cameron Crowe chose Minneapolis native Paul Westerberg to write the score and contribute 2 songs to the soundtrack. I highly recommend the documentary Hype! to anyone interested in Northwest rock music in the 80's/90's. A much better representation of what was happening as far as music in Seattle(and The Northwest) than the Singles soundtrack.

The best Seattle movie? Singles?

Um, hello? WARGAMES. Or if that's not your style, Harry and the Hendersons. Fabulous Baker Boys? Firewall?

There are tons of movies better than Singles set up here, though none of them are "about" Seattle, I guess.

My most memorable Seattle films:
Black Widow
Trouble in Mind
The Ring
Georgia
The hand that rocks the cradle
Oh and "Cinderella Liberty" with a young James Caan.

Love "the killing" (AMC) shot in Vancouver, set in Seattle. An interview with director says it will be shot in Seattle if it is given a second season
