Is there a real bakery near 98004/Bellevue? I tried the Safeway one, but it's not what I expected. Minimal selection, and tiny loaf size!

I bought some sliced sour-dough bread, but the loaves are so small it's insane! And the taste isn't particularly amazing. Where do people shop for bread around here?

Also, some of these so-called "Bakeries" aren't really bakeries, but are restaurants which sell sandwiches and coffee, and you can't actually buy bread there (e.g. Specialty's Bakery in Bellevue Square). What's with that?

On Saturday, go to the farmers market in Issaquah across from Costco.
We go every Saturday in summer and besides the great (cheap) produce, the Grand Central Bakery has a booth, we always get a loaf and maybe some rolls. They are in Seattle, but it's a lot easier to make it a treat once a week since we go to the market anyway.

The bread from Panera isn't too bad, but it's a chain, and I'm not sure that that's what you're looking for. If it is, there's one in Factoria, but I'm not sure if they sell whole loaves like the one in Redmond.

I always look for Essential Baking company bread. Some of the QFCs have it, PCC has it. Not sure if Whole Foods has it or not.
