Hello, my husband is possibly getting a new job in bellevue. Looking for smaller towns with country, relaxed atmonsphere within 60 min commute. No need for school district info as we are homeschooling. Any suggestions. Prefer areas with less rain or maybe in mountains. Any info would be helpful.

Coincidentally I just read this today. According to CNN/Yahoo Mukilteo, Sammamish, and Newcastle:

Best Places to Live 2011 - Top 100: Town details: Mukilteo, WA - from MONEY Magazine

Best Places to Live 2011 - Top 100: Town details: Newcastle, WA - from MONEY Magazine

Best Places to Live 2011 - Top 100: Town details: Sammamish, WA - from MONEY Magazine

Based on my experience of seeing these areas. These are all nice options IMO.

You don't need to get sixty minutes out of Bellevue for that smaller town, relaxed country atmosphere. You do need to get more than sixty minutes out of Bellevue for less rain.
In addition to rbkoreaus's suggestions, how about adding places Fall City, Carnation, Duvall, Snohomish, Maltby, Maple Valley, and Black Diamond?

I would add North Bend to that list...but yeah, can't get less rain unless you are more than a commutable distance.
