I'd say that the best route to go will take you through some of the National Parks, so you could at least stop in for a half day or so and do a tour. They're absolutely fantastic .... it would take too long to do all of them, but you might plan a route that takes you through your choices of Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion in Utah, Glacier or whatever it's called in Montana, Yellowstone, Tahoe, Yosemite etc.

One more question, what is the best scenic drive to get up there? I've heard mixed things about driving thru the Rockeys on how horrible scary it is or it's a beautiful amazing drive. What's your guys view on that? My leave date is April 1[/QUOTE]

April can still be pretty rough for a trip across the Rockies as blizzards are still a distinct possibility then. I would stick to the main roads/interstate highways as you head out there and the northern route which will take you thru Denver and Salt Lake, on to Boise then Seattle. There still is plenty of good scenery and the speed limits are 75 in CO./UT.&WY. You probably can do it in 2 days at 16 hours of driving per day.

I really envy you on your move to Seattle, its a great city.. I'm heading there at the end of the month just to get away for a few days.. I live near Piedmont, OK. just two hours away from you Amanda. Can't blame you a bit for moving. I too have had enough of Okla. Seattle is my top choice to relocate.. now to convince the Mrs.

That's the route mapquest gave me to take! So that's the one I was planning on...I was just hoping it was a safe one. I'm glad to hear there's lots of good scenery on that route.

Thank you! There isn't anything wrong with Oklahoma. There's just a lot more out there to see and experience. I'm sure everyone feels that way about the place they were born and raised. I hope Seattle is what I'm expecting. I keep hearing about this whole Seattle Freeze thing and it makes me nervous, and after working for the same person for six years I'm a little nervous about that situation. As Oprah has said before(corny, I know) If something scares you, DO IT! Never been to Piedmont, but I've heard of it!

Good success on your relocation to Seattle which has the highest educated population in the United States of America and matchless natural beauty to boot. I left OK for the west coast myself CA , but I'm at this time trying to move back to OK in a spring & fall house, and maybe AZ & FL for the winters months.
