At least I like Seattle much more than Atlanta for everything else which is why I would still prefer Seattle over Atlanta.

What was the temperature in Atlanta yesterday?
I am surprised you do not like warm/hot weather while liking cold weather so much.
I don't agree. I don't like the heat. For some reason, I sweat easily. I don't have a car, so it makes things worse. I don't like the heat because it makes me miserable. It is extremely humid. Personally, I don't care for summer in general.

Yesterday the temperature was around 91, and very humid. All I had to do was stand in one place or barely move and I started sweating, which feels kind of icky. Not to mention the heat leaves me drained.

While where I am in the Northeast, it will be 90 degrees after tomorrow with a low of 70.
Please keep the 90 degree temperatures there...it wouldn't bother me if I never got to 90 in Seattle again!

I fully agree. I'm in NYC right now. It's over 80 degrees (every day), not even 90 yet, and I don't like it at all.

It was 98 in my town today, and there's no relief in sight. I'd give just about anything to be in Seattle right now instead of here.

That makes two of us. It's miserable in Atlanta too.

Wow. I am surprised by some of the most recent posts on this thread.

So there are people that exist that do not like warm/hot temperatures and anything above 70 degrees and complain whenever it is above 70...

But there are plenty of people that love warm/hot temperatures.

I had such a great day in New York City today with it being around 85 degrees, sunny without a cloud in the sky, going to the beach, going into the ocean and swimming there, getting a tan and wearing comfortable clothing with it still feeling warm. There were plenty of other people in the water too.

The ocean here is still a bit cold but it is warming up quickly and definitely much warmer than Washington state's ocean and puget sound. The Puget sound in Seattle and the WA pacific coast is probably too cold and freezing right now for someone to even risk going into the water and might even risk hyperthermia.

I definitely view New York City summers much better than Seattle summers now!

It felt so strange to me last year that I had to wear a sweater almost every day in Seattle even in June, July, August, and September.

I still like Seattle and Pacific Northwest and love living in both New York City and Seattle/PCNW at the same time right now but I am not much of a fan for Seattle/PCNW weather.

But how do you know if NYC summers are better if you never experienced a proper Seattle summer?

Of course the water here will be colder than NYC's... given that we are higher up on the latitude. But our coastline is very spectacular... WA has NY beat in this department. If one wants to go swimming in waters here at this time, then they could wear a dry suit. We do have people going out into the waters. I have a friend who just LOVES polar bear plunging-- and is disappointed that the waters isn't cold enough. Different strokes for different folks.

Cold water isn't much of a concern for me, unless I'm accidentally falling in it. I'm not really interested in swimming and I'm definitely not interested in lying out in the sun. If anything I'm usually trying to hide from the sun!

I already experienced a proper Seattle summer last year in 2010! So I am completely familiar with Seattle summers.

I was in Seattle from February 2010 to November 2010.
And I will be back in Seattle soon.

In my view, NYC summers are better than Seattle summers.

You are right that Washington's Pacific Ocean coastline and Puget sound coastline is spectacular. I definitely agree.

I was just mentioning the water is generally colder there than New York City especially in summer.

That is true someone could go into the water there with wet suit but does it really make the water feel warmer to someone?
Plus, most people would prefer to go into the water without having to a wear a wet suit.

Also during heat waves in Washington state it can feel warm enough to even go into the water of the puget sound and WA pacific coast without a wet suit!

I like Seattle and the Pacific Northwest but I am not a fan of the weather there most of the time.

You and many other people. I guess I'm different because I prefer cloudy, cool, damp weather over continuous sun, extreme cold or searing heat. I grew up in a city that was horridly hot for 5-6 months every year with very little rain. Blazing sun almost every day. It was not pleasant at all and I became very sick of it. I needed a change and that's one of the many reasons I chose the Seattle area.
