I have had the heater off since late June, and still run the window AC rain or not as I like it about 68 inside. It's been a little more muggy than normal but
not enough to complain about. Try spending a few days in a place like New Orleans if you want to see what muggy really is. This has been one of the more pleasant summers, this bit of rain is not enough to bother me at all and is keeping the heat down to the high 70s.

As others have said it's been an amazing sunny, warm summer. Warmer and sunnier than I prefer, to be honest. I moved here 4 years ago, and this is by far the sunniest, driest summer we've had since then. I don't know what the other poster is talking about saying it's been cloudy most of the summer- that is totally inaccurate! Sure because of the haze we couldn't see Mount Rainier every day, but that is not due to clouds- that is due to humidity, dust, and/or smoke in the air at any given time.

We've had our patio door and upstairs windows open since early June!
This has been an awesome summer.

Even considered turning my heater on this AM because the house was 68.

I'm going to die come winter!
Winter will be darker and wetter than NY, but it will not feel colder. You'll adjust.

How can it be 82 in your house if it hasn't topped the mid 70s in a week?

Not sure yet if the gray of the winter here will be worse than the cold but often sunny winter in NY as it seems everyone is different. So far you guys win hands down in summer and it is stunning here, so no complaints. Just need to adjust my wardrobe.

I only lived in NY a few years...SoCal before that but the only thing I've ever missed there is the sun and beach.

That's exactly why.

Last 7 days

Monday (26th) - 76
Sunday (25th) - 72
Saturday (24th) - 77
Friday (23rd) - 77
Thursday (22nd) - 84
Wednesday (21st) - 82
Tuesday (20th) - 78

it's been really warm not only during the day, but also at night. It's usually 66 when I wake up at 8 am which is really warm for Seattle.

I popped in to ask this very same question (as I sit under our awning, listening to the rain and enjoy the cool weather). I was wondering if I should go ahead and pack away our summer clothes or if I should hold off until October. Coming from Arizona, I never really pack up the summer stuff, because in the middle of December or January it wasn't unusual to get hit with a mini heat-wave (80's-90's). I hated the weather there! What do you think? Is it typical to get one more warm spell before autumn coolness sets in for good? Thanks for any advice!
