$10k lets you move to Canada?

There are a few different ways to immigrate to Canada. One of the most popular ways is applying for permanent residence via the skilled worker category. You must show proof of funds though to apply. The amount, as reflected here, is 10K. Not sure that is what the poster meant, but it sounded like that to me.

Personally I've got no problem with the overcast and wet weather, bring on fall/winter ... Drizzling right now as a matter of fact... And starting Friday it's supposed to stay below 60 every day for the foreseeable future.. Wouldn't have it any other way... Been up here a little over three years and STILL not sick of it... It's all about what you make of your situation I guess..

I'm originally from the sme area of NW Raider, and I've been here three years (what a coincidence!)
I'm sick of it - I was shivering my ass off all morning - and have three layers on just to sit in the office right now
I love fall too - but just not here

...are most offices ok with space heaters? I couldn't live without mine year round in MI...
I thought it was less humid up there?? *confused* Currently 85 degrees with 64% humidity here...

It's less humid in the summer when the temperatures are higher, ladyjuliek. During the rest of the year when the temperatures are lower, it's not unusual for the humidity to be in the 90-100% range. When it's 85-90 degrees out, you won't see 90-100% humidity in Seattle like you would in other parts of the country.
That's why 35-45 degrees with 100% humidity is so uncomfortable to me. That is quite a frequent condition in January and February. Like I've said before, I'd much rather have temperatures in the teens with low humidity than 40 degrees with high humidity.
That's one of the reasons I moved. It was just too uncomfortable for me in the winter. Seattle doesn't have severe winters but like I say, I couldn't take the wet, cold, gray, short days, with high humidity in the 10 months that aren't considered summer.

It's all about how your body acclimates to the weather, wherever you live I guess... I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt (my wife insists I'm part Polar Bear ), although I do have a space heater under my desk.. And I don't work directly outside, although I do go outside to get parts or check out a customer's unit, but our shop has no heater and we do have the doors open most of the day, so we don't get TOO much of a reprieve from Mother Nature, unless it's just downright miserable conditions, then we'll close up a door or two. One of the ladies that works with us has lived here all her life and she's bundled up like it's snowing outside... And it took my wife a couple of winters to get acclimated to the climate, but she loves it now, just have to dress accordingly... Talked to my sister (still in SoCal) a couple weeks ago and it was 110 with t-storms.. F that.. Don't miss it in the least..

My current job does not allow heaters - but that's because it's a high rise building downtown
I'd be a happy camper if I could just have a heater
They did allow my heated foot rest - which helps
