Default Kirkland ???

I have a doctors appointment in Kirkland next week. I hear so much about the area, but what should I see when I am there? What stores are there that I should check out or any sights to see?

Thanks!

martina26 is on a distinguished road
There are a lot of doctor offices and hospitals in Kirkland, overpriced grocery stores and a waterfront area. Personally, I don't think its a tourist area by any means. I would never want to live there.

If your appt. is in the Totem Lake area you won't see much. Car dealerships, freeways, garden apts., strip malls with the Old Country Buffet, a big hospital and some older housing developments.

If your appt. is in downtown Kirkland you will see the real Kirkland. A very nice waterfront downtown area with neat shops, restaurants, new condo developments, a nice library and people actually walking. In the surrounding area you will see nice little homes along with the mcmansioning of the area with older homes being torn down to make way for giant homes on very small lots.

Apparently my appointment in at Evergreen Hospital so I am guessing that there is nothing worth seeing in that area. How far is this neat waterfront area from there??
