And more than twice as many Seattle-area residents are searching for homes elsewhere than people elsewhere are looking here., real estate company Trulia said.
The company also found that the Seattle area as a whole was the eighth-weakest for search demand, ranked by the number of locals looking at homes elsewhere compared with the number of outsiders searching in the area.
The area, defined as King and Snohomish counties, had 2.11 outbound searches for every inbound search during the fourth quarter, Trulia reported.

How far out? I'd imagine they're tired of being taxed to death. I know I am. I promised someone I'd stay one more year, then I'm out of here. Thanks to our local politicians for starters.

If you read the whole report, there is a lot of the data that does not make sense anyway. Such as Austin being ranked the number 2 place for outbound searches. And yet Seattle is ranked highly for Top 10 inbound searches for the cities they showed such as Chicago and Atlanta. I know, real estate in my area is moving and prices are moving back up too. But I live in a really good school district so it will always be in demand.

I'm good with more people leaving than coming but we just gained a seat in the House due the increase in population. Considering the traffic on 405, if they are regretting it and leaving, it's hard to get too broken up about that. Take a drive through the Bel Square parking garage on a Saturday and tell me no one is moving here.

Well yeah, if you want to own a house then I can see why you'd want to leave. I'm perfectly happy renting for now. I'll deal with that hurdle when and if it's time. Home ownership is not the blessing it used to be.

I second this.

Perfectly happy living in WA after living 30+ years in southeast GA... any winter here is better than the summer there.
