The UD is great for college students and is a transportation hub. And it's safe, don't believe what people tell you about being scared walking around at night (which I used to do every day without incident). Sure there's theft occasionally, which btw happens at every major university, but the UW alerts are few and far between. I wouldn't be worried about noise either unless you live in a dorm or north of 45th and east of 15th.
