Hi there. I live in a backwards, white-trash town in Pennsylvania. I have been around this all my life and I am tired of it. Ever since I read about Seattle's...well, everything (from the weather to the peoples' general world view)..I have always wanted to go. Now that I am out of college (and rid of a bad relationship and have been working for about a year in a pharmacy, I have decided now more than ever is the time. I am, at heart, a technology guy. I love to innovate, think, and express my ideas in all kinds of ways. However, there is nothing short of garbage where I live in that regard. I'm modest about everything about myself except my intelligence. In any case, what are some tips on getting me out there? I speak in reference to art/science/tech jobs. I have heard a lot about how the Seattle area is great for Tech and Art career opportunities, and instead of trying to navigate the terrible employment sites, I'd like to get an idea of how to go about it. I know I can find work in a pharmacy at first, but what else is there as far as entry level? I have ADHD, and my grades reflected on that. I need to find somewhere that'll accept my quick thinking and forward thinking mind. I hope to hear back from someone soon, as I am so pumped that I finally have the chance to do this in the coming months (probably by August).

I guess my real question is, "Would I find what I'm looking for in Seattle?"

While the job situation is better than many other cities at 7% it's still difficult to compete when right out of college, with new graduates at 9%. Employers are requiring experience for everything, because there are people available with experience. I think you would be perfectly happy here . .if you found a job. There are currently many paid internships available here but most are for current students or graduates registered in Master programs:
