Default Remember folks...

I've heard so many complain about Seattle.

But I think it's because they've forgotten the all-important thing: SEATTLE GAVE US JIMI HENDRIX!

That sacrifice alone should cover all of its sins...

After living in Seattle area for 15 months my likes are the higher wage opportunities, high intelligence level of the average person, respect for culture, diversity, lively downtown, lots of green spaces, closeness to the coast, mountains, and all the recreation a person can ask for. I can't say I have any harsh dislikes, but I noticed a few things that could be better- the traffic and the liberal politics are my 2 main semi-gripes. I don't mind the gloomy weather but I wish it would be a little sunnier and warmer by now.

So, what you are saying is Jimi Hendrix is your messiah???? When I taught at Garfield High School, Jimi Hendrix was one of my students. He was no messiah !! He never came to class, he was just a name in the attendence book.:sm ack::sma ck:

Pros: highly educated population in general, rampant geeky tech culture, lots of job opportunities in IT, beautiful scenery, ethnic diversity, good coffee, fireplaces (they're in pretty much every apartment and house and I love it), and I am introverted and that's not unusual out here, plus I just really enjoy the rain (obviously some of these things could be considered "cons").

Cons: DINK culture, not family-friendly at all, housing costs are high, lots of traffic

There's a Mexican food truck between safeco and the businesses. Delicious! It's called El Camion. Best Mexican in Seattle and beats the pants off a number of places in pilsen, a west Chicago Latino neighborhood.

Love: the older parts of the city (victorians & old narrow brick buildings). The environment, the water, the views, the food. The locals, and local culture (what's left of them/it).

Hate: the transplant population that has taken over the city and surrounding areas, and the attitudes that come with them.

The best brick-and-mortar Mexican I've had here is 'La Carta Oaxaca' in Ballard. Divine. Try that too.

I've seen Taco trucks, one in Lake City and one in Edmonds.

I love the mild climate, the natural beauty, and generally everything.

I detest the traffic/road system. Highway 5 = Path to Satan
