Default Moving back to Seattle

Hey everyone!

I basically grew up in Seattle through out my childhood life. I met my husband through online and he lived here in Maryland. I decided to move here after we got married. I was trying to get away from the rain and how depressing it can be. After 2 years of living here, my husband and I decided that its time for me to move back to Seattle to be closer to my family I miss them and the city itself.

I was wondering if you all could help me decide if it would be cheaper to transport atleast one vehicle through train or to drive it all the way from Maryland back to Seattle? or just sell both cars and take the plane?

Any other ideas?

Personally I'd love to take a couple weeks and drive across the US, but that's not up everyone's alley... Have you contacted any companies that move autos? I just sold a car to a lady in Phoenix and it was $600 to transport it. I think it would have cost her around $300 to drive, but then you also have food and hotels and, of course, your time.

I would call around and get estimates. Then compare that against what the car(s) are worth to you as well as how much driving you like to do/can do, and go from there.

I had a similar experience as Kayela did... I shipped my car down here to Phoenix for about $800 from NJ. I loaded the car with stuff I wanted to bring down (covered under a blanket and not valuable). The cost of gasoline, food, hotels, uhaul, and sheer boredom would've cost the same or more! I can try to look up the service I used if that helps!

It would be a lovely drive. I've done it. It does get a little monotonous in North Dakota/Montana, but you can drive really fast....
