Does anyone have any information positive or negative about this school? Is it considered a top tier private school for Seattle? I have read some good reviews and some so so about the academics. It seems like a bargain compared to some of the other private high schools.

We looked at it for our daughter - the big drawback was the constant emphasis on AP testing - how well their students do. When I asked how that translated into college performance, there was no answer. We sent our daughter to Seattle Prep - where she excelled. Another deciding factor was upon acceptance to Holy Names, the letter essentially said congratulations for your entry and then went into when the first tuition payment was due. Seattle Prep made no mention of money in their acceptance, just telling our daughter how excited they were to have her as part of the Seattle Prep family.

Haha. The owner of our company's wife while I worked in the metro area went there. I guess, as they became a monied family, she became pretentious. I had met her at functions, and had no desire to ingratiate myself with her. I once saw her in line near me at a "better" fast food place near our office (she didn't work). I think she would have never stooped as low as acknowledge "the help." I think that most of the hoyty-toyty Catholic schools, and I went to a Catholic HS, turn out kids who may be smart, but are more elitist than they are Christian.

How do Eastside Catholic and (Bishop) Blanchet stack up? Are you on the south end? If so, what about Bellarmine?

Holy Names has an excellent reputation. I had the impression they had great financial aid, but maybe that's incorrect. We always hated playing them in lacrosse when I was in high school, though...they were rough!

Most people would probably tell you the most prestigious private school in the Seattle area is Lakeside School, where Bill Gates went. Aside from Seattle Prep, Eastside Catholic, Blanchett and Holy Names, some additional schools that are well known in the area include: University Prep, The Bush School, The Overlake School, Forest Ridge (all girls), Bellevue Christian.
