That show 'Chase'. Of course it flopped and wasn't even really FILMED in Houston - it was just SET there. As far as movies, 'Puncture' was the last one I know of. That was filmed in the medical center (I watched some of it) in 2010/2011. TV shows and movies are not filmed in Houston for good reason though - it's ugly and boring...

If Microsoft had never been a NW presence it wouldn't have mattered all that much. The truth is that Seattle has long been a growing place for families as well as business due to the fact of it's geographical charm. We had this pristine place existing off of the national media radar for fifty years, now of course it reflects many of the negatives of any other large city that has been "discovered" by all those geo-malcontents. I grew up in Seattle, 1945 to 2007, I saw the loss of it's provincialism, the growth of a transplanted populace, traffic problems galore, crime, and of course the new phenomenon of me-ism. In spite of these negatives it still beats most cities hands down. That's why all the new people and new commerce are here.

Not every city is situated in such a beautiful natural surrounding as Seattle. The harshness of the landscape in the midwest, the humid bug infested areas of our southern cities, Los angeles and all that it stands for, Seattle has none of these negatives, the rain, the grey skies, the long winters, all pale in comparison to the reality of our natural beauty. it's not about TV shows, Human's are drawn to places of beauty, period. I just hope there is enough to go around. Too many people can soon spoil all that natural charm, too many NW towns have already lost their original magnetism, gentrified, polished, and snobbish, they are actually turning people away who want that small town experience of strolling the sidewalks on a quiet Sunday, seeing the shops and local color as a genuine expression of small town life, not the circus culture of high end commercialism that has ruined so many of our little bergs.

It's been a few years since Seattle had an influence on culture, TV, arts etc. She's like an aging housewife, once beautiful and energetic, but who now has a perpetual headache when asked to put out.

Seattle is riding on past glories.
