Can anyone refer a moving company on the eastside of Seattle to me. We are moving within Issaquah next month and I have no idea who to even call since we have only lived out here for a year.

TIA!!!!

We have used Careful Movers (based in Lynnwood) twice, and it was excellent both times. One was a move into Issaquah from Redmond, second was a move from Issaquah into Bothell.

Thanks! I just called them, they charge 90.00 per hour..does that seem right? We have only ever used movers in PA and it was alot cheaper than that. I just want to make sure that this is the norm for out here! Thanks!

That sounds in the ballpark, Pittgal. Some friends of mine in Seattle were charged $80/hr. for two persons and a truck.

I don't know - it's been 4 years since I have moved in the state. I would call a few places and get quotes maybe? DON'T use Starving Students... we had a HORRIBLE experience with them.

Did you use a realtor when you moved to the area? In my experience, realtors have a ton of contacts for this kind of thing, so if you know of a realtor you trust, perhaps they can recommend someone.

$90 an hour sounds pretty reasonable considering what other things cost here. Examples I've recently dealt with:

Tree topped off, cut down, and removed (2-3 hours for 2 guys) -$500
Water trench dug + poly line(2 days - 4 guys) - $6k
Cement work for a rock retaining wall (4-5 hours for a team of 6 guys) - $12k

These were the low quotes found before the work was done. If I didn't have to sit in front of a computer 6 days a week I'd have done it myself.

I don't know if that is common these days as everything seems expensive now, but I think you'll generally find things to be more expensive here than PA.
