My family are looking for a new location, closer to downtown (where I work). We have special needs of a good walking area, probably gated community. Does anyone here live in broadmoor? Anyone have thoughts on the community? I'd love to hook up with someone so I can go in and check it out for myself.

Thanks!

I've been in the community and to the country club. It's beautiful, ultra exclusive, feels small/intimate, and it's one of the few gated communities in the Seattle area. When you say you want a good walking area, I'm not sure if you mean a nice neighborhood to walk around, or within walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc. If it's the latter, I wouldn't really say it fits the bill...unless there are some walking trails I don't know about on the eastern side that cut through the brick walls.

I mean more a good walking community, some place you can go walk safely around for about a mile to get exercise. I am kinda curious where the closest large grocery store (QFC, Safeway etc) is though?

Madison Park, just down the road from Broadmoor(less than a mile) has a Red Apple supermarket, beloved by residents. Up the hill less than a mile is a Safeway, about a mile and a half is a Trader Joe's. Broadmoor borders the Washington Park Arboretum,a great place to walk for exercise.

This must be a wonderful place if it located right next to the Arboretum...but why would anyone want to lock themselves in in a gated community in the middle of Seattle? This is not Johannesburg...
