If we have to lose the Ace Hardware store, I can think of a lot worse stores to take it's place.

This is a rumor, mind you, but:

Some workmen from the remodel of the old video store to become Petco were overheard while eating at a nearby fast food place, talking about the upcoming remodel of the hardware store space to become Trader Joe's.

Sure, we already have them in both Redmond and in Issaquah, but same with Petco, not to mention Fred Meyer and Home Depot.

Not a big fan of the new Issaquah location of TJ's. Used to go weekly now only have been there once since they opened. I try to avoid that trade area best I can (unless it's to go to 5 Guys) so I would welcome a TJ's...though I would much rather have ACE there!

I have not shopped at TJ since they moved... a nightmare of a parking situation! Maybe if they did open a Sammamish store it would help ours out. Right now I wait to do any TJ shopping (which admittedly, is mostly for snacks) until I have to go to First Tech on 156th.

We normally go to either Redmond or the one on 156th in Bellevue since we go there to visit a relative frequently. Hopefully the city will agree to let Ace build a new store down the road, and we get TJ so we have both here, then we can avoid driving down the hills so often. Especially on days like today with all that frozen fog on the roads this morning.

Seems that Sammamish would be an ideal place for a TJs. Peoplethere have money but like to save a little, and that seems like TJs target. I haven't been to the new Issaquah TJs, as I live a little closer to the Burien store.

Rumor confirmed, Trader Joe's will in fact be moving into that space.
